Hello My Name Is...

Mark Holcombe

I teach both 7th grade (Life) and 8th grade (Physical) science.

I hold a BA in Psychology and Philosophy from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC.
I hold a MA in Philosophy from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA.
I hold a MA in Education from UAB.

I taught Philosophy at UAB for about 10 years. I taught Introduction to Philosophy, Contemporary Moral Issues, and Logic.

I was also a Research Assistant at UAB in the Center for Ethics and Values in the Sciences. I created online, interactive training modules on the responsible conduct of research (RCR). I also authored two papers for the Office of Research Integrity (a division of DHHS) on the consequences of research misconduct and the efficacy of RCR training programs.
